The Golden Era with Annu Kapoor is a reminiscence of Indian cinema which pays tribute to the Music of Indian Cinema. It is a walk through the mellifluent and heart touching musical journey of the classics of the Golden Era (1940s-1970s). Every episode is a tribute to one of the best unforgettable singers or composers. His exceptionally magical way of storytelling ties you up to his story till the end. The show contains old songs, and small stories of personal life related to that singer. And the remaining gaps are filled with beautiful poems.
The show starts with a heart touching meaningful poem, in the voice of Annu Kapoor in his traditional attire. The show continues with an admiration and facts concerning the singer. The host plays old euphonious songs of renowned singers and composers with their sweet, bitter memories related to the song or their personal life. The show has three harmonious segments followed by some memorable evergreen songs.
The show starts with the ins and outs of Bollywood to introduce with the golden era and ends with the meaningful poetry which leaves you in the mood of nostalgia. Annu Kapoor -
Anil Kapoor, known by his screen name Annu Kapoor, made his film debut in Shyam Benegal’s 1983 film ‘Mandi’. In his 30 years of acting career, we remember him best for hosting Antakshari, the vocal reality show for 13 consecutive years since 1993 and his supporting role in
Vicky Donor (2012). Annu Kapoor has also appeared in
Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. The veteran Annu Kapoor won National Film Award as well as Filmfare Awards for his supporting role in Vicky Donor where he acted as an obsessive-compulsive sperm-bank physician. He is currently hosting a radio programme called “Suhaana Safar with Annu Kapoor” on 92.7 Big FM, which has completed its three successful years this year.
