It has already completed twenty six episodes in 2015. This show focuses on the roles of various characters played by the Yore actors. The quintessential villain, dominating father or a commoner, were iconic portrayals by the then actors. Now, the villain is no longer hefty, unkempt, or shabby but is instead portrayed as someone sharp, devious, calculated, and most of the times, as good-looking as the hero himself. Neither are the dominating fathers loud, crass, and possessing uncontrollable passions.

Now their character is toned down, cool, but exerting the same influence that was exerted a century ago .These changes in the characters then and now is of considerable interest and hence, this show focuses on all the parameters needed for comparison. Javed Akhtar, the renowned lyricist and brilliant poet is highly revered by everyone in Bollywood. He appears in a talk show on Tata Sky in the channel, Active Life with Javed Akhtar, where he speaks about 'Shaayaris' and values. He will be playing the role of the narrator in this show which will be aired on EPIC channel. Each episode is of about thirty minutes, along with advertisements.

In 2015, every two episodes stressed on the same character. The first two episodes were about villains, the next two about comedians, next were romantic heroes, courtesans, children, siblings, mothers, friends, vamps, and police up to episode 20. The rest of the episodes were about working class, angry young men, heroines and singers. All these episodes had Javed Akhtar nostalgically narrating the iconic dialogues of yesteryear's actors, allowing the viewers to have a glimpse into the olden days. This year's episodes will be a thoughtfully scripted, well researched version of the first season.
