Popular Hindi Entertainment Channel Zee had announced the third season of “India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj” in 2014. The channel wanted to bring the young generation actors to the core and display their acting skills .This idea formed the concept of the show. Zee channel team had traveled across the country such as Chandigarh, Mumbai, Orissa, West Bengal, Bhubaneswar, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Lucknow for selections. The winner of the show would be given a chance to act in a film directed by
Mahesh Bhatt. Out of the top 12 contestants, Aman Joshi (Dehradun) and Sheetal Chauhan (Dehradun) got eliminated on August 3, 2014. On August 10, 2014, contestants like Abhimanyu Tak( Chandigarh),
Prakruti Mishra (Bhubaneswar) got eliminated. Similarly, on August 24, 2014, two contestants namely Kartik Vyas (Uttar Pradesh) and
Sonam Bisht (Dehradun) were eliminated.
The show was judged by
Anurag Basu, and 'Dhoom-3' director Victor. Four contestants, namely Akshay Nalawade from Mumbai, Meenu Panchal Jind from Haryana and Vikram Chatterjee from West Bengal could not reach the finals . The winners of the season were declared was
Oksana Rasulova from Baku (Azerbaijan) and
Syed Mamoon from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was the mentor who trained the contestants to perform live on stage.
