Hum Hain Umeed E Kashmir was a fund-raising event for the victims of the Kashmir floods in 2014. It was jointly organized by the Event and Entertainment management association, Film & Television Producer Guild and Zee Network on October 26, 2014. All the 38 channels associated with the Zee Network telecast the show at the same time. It was held at two places in India: Mumbai and Delhi. In the Delhi event,
Ravi Dubey and Samir Kocchar were the hosts, in the Mumbai franchise,
Mandira Bedi was the host. Numerous Bollywood stars came forward to offer their helping hands for Kashmir. Auctions were held, where one particular item donated by each celebrity was sold for a bid. Many members of the film industry like
Parineeti Chopra etc were seen performing on stage for fund raising,
Also interviews were held wherein the stars were asked to share their relationship with Kashmir. The film industry is an integral part of Kashmir because of so many movies which have been shot there, thus a special connection exists which made this event all the more meaningful. Also, the common people of India were urged by the actors to help in any way possible.
Aamir Khan declared that he would donate a sum of 25 lakhs to the relief funds.
The stage performances by
Neha Dhupia, Aditi Rao, Parineeti,
Sushant Singh Rajput, Shaan,
Sukhwinder Singh, Vishal,
Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan,and
Shantanu Moitra and
Shankar Mahadevan. etc attracted a lot of crowd to the show thus creating funds. The slogan Hum Hain Kashmir ki Umeed was also prevalent. The show addresses the chance to be united and do something for the greater good. A total amount of Rs.7, 10, 65,884 was collected out of which every penny was sent to help the people of Kashmir.
