Comedy Ka Daily Soap aired on Sony TV from 16th August 2010 till 7th October 2010. It is a comedy show and saw Krushna Abhishek (who is also known as
Abhishek Sharma) as the host. It featured a host of parodies as well as mimicries of renowned and famous celebrities. The show was broadcast from Monday to Thursday on a daily basis. Abhishek Sharma is a well-known comedian and actor. He has acted in films such as
Bol Bachchan and its Entertainment, following which he shot to fame. His work was greatly appreciated in the movies and led to him getting cast in other roles as well. He has performed as a stand-up comedian on various shows like Comedy Circus. Abhishek has also featured in Bhojpuri films. His tryst with reality television saw him take part on
Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. He performed with his then girlfriend
Kashmira Shah on Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar. It was a dance reality show, and they went on to win the same. More recently, he has acted in Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3. Apart from acting and dancing, he has also judged a reality show on DD National. The show's title was
Krazzy Kiya Re and he co-judged the show with Sunidhi Chauhan.
Comedy Ka Daily Soap featured celebrities like
Ragini Khanna, who performed a mimicry of her well-known uncle, Govinda. The spoof was done in partnership with her cousin Krishna. The audience was in splits when she entered the stage dressed up like Govinda. The spoof was an improvised act and did not have any prior scripting or preparation. Incidentally, this was the first time that she performed with Krishna on any stage. The show also saw other celebrities coming in such as Piyush and Atul. These two rose to fame as mind-blowing dancers post appearing on Dance India Dance and Chak Dhoom Dhoom. They were runners-up in the shows. A host of famous comedians also featured on the show including Bharti,
Kapil Sharma, Sudesh Lahiri, VIP, Sooraj, and Parvati. Many on-screen actors who feature in successful soaps, also performed at varying points of time.
The show was a follow-up of Sony’s successfully running ‘Comedy’ line of shows which returns every year. Sony thus maintains a healthy variety of shows. These continue to be different from the programming found on other entertainment channels. These steps enabled Sony to engage and entertain the viewers over a longer period through a delightful mix.
