Hindi Tv Show Coke Studio Mtv Season 2

This was a 2012 Hindi music Tv series created by Coca-Cola Company and MTV India. It was inspired by the Brazilian music series Coke Studio Brazil. Due to the popularity that it received the series ran for four seasons. The second season of the series was premiered on the two channels MTV India and Doordarshan both, on the same day, i.e. on 7th July 2012. However, it was aired on the MTV India at 7 pm while it aired on the Doordarshan at 8:30 pm. The show garnered a lot of attention due to its unique concept as never before had anybody shot in the studio and neither did anybody sang live on a TV series.

The show had several of India's music artists, from Bollywood singers and music directors to independent singers and bands, coming onto the show and either singing their already sung composition or collaborating with each other and altogether composing a new song. All the different singers had their own strength and forte and thus the collaboration was more fun and exhilarating as the audiences were treated to the best of music. The show had singers crooning not just famous Bollywood songs but also songs from various genres such as Carnatic, Hip-Hop, and several others. Between singing, the singers also shared memories and experiences of their life about the song with the audience.

The show was shot inside a recording studio with a small number of audience. Besides singers, there are also many instrumentalists, standing behind the singers, who aid the singers to create memorable songs. The show was created with the intention to set up and celebrate great musical works. It also bought regional singers and music into the limelight. All the episodes of the second season were aired on the channel for almost an hour and telecasted a total of 10 episodes out of which the last two episodes showcased the best of the entire season. The show enjoyed great popularity due to its unique concept, especially amongst the youngsters.
