Chaupal Charcha is an information program for farmers. It is telecast in Hindi and aimed at familiarizing people with various schemes rolled out by the central government to benefit agriculturists. Each episode talks about a different scheme and brings out important details about various conditions and requirements needed for enumeration or recognition as per the scheme. The program also traces the actual implementation of the schemes at the grass-root level and sheds light on the benefits availed by the farmers instead of these assistance measures.
The program crew travels to a different village in a different state for every episode, where the host interacts with the local farmers and gauges their opinion on the scheme's effectiveness. These meetings are also attended by government officials who instantly address complaints, if any, from the farmers about non-reception of the benefits. PM Kisan Yojana, Kisan Credit Card Scheme, and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojana are notable past programs. Chaupal Charcha is broadcasted by the state TV DD Kisan.
