‘Woh Teri Bhabhi hai Pagle!’ is a TV series of romantic sitcom genre which aired on SAB TV. The serial is about a love triangle between two guys and a girl wherein both the guys fake their identities to impress the girl. The show is produced by Optimystix Entertainment which has had a long association with SAB TV and delivered some of the entertaining shows like ‘Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bol,’ ‘Pappad Pol’ etc. Woh Teri Bhabhi hai Pagle’s story revolves around ‘Diya’ who is a doctor. Diya is a pretty and charming lady owing to which a gangster ‘Nathu Nakabandi’ and a rich father’s son ‘Ranbeer Raichand’ fall for her instantly. However, not much to our surprise Diya hates gangsters while she despises rich people as they buy off medical degrees and get their sons join as doctors.
The funny story takes off when Nathu abandons his ill deeds as a gangster and joins Diya’s hospital as a patient with one of his goons as an accomplice to impress her. On the other hand, Ranbeer takes a fake identity as a doctor and admits Nathu in the hospital to impress Diya. Ranbeer pretends to hail from a poor family and tells her that he is aware of Nathu’s sickness. Both Nathu and Ranbeer doubt each other as they feign as patient and doctor respectively while Diya gets impressed with Ranbeer and allows him to join the hospital. She also assures Nathu that he could stay in the hospital until he is cured. The viewers get to see the humor that sets in when both of them find out the other’s truth and force each other to expose each other before the girl.
As Nathu and Ranbeer try out in their own ways to woo Diya and hamper each other’s plans, the dose of comedy in their portrayal entertains the audience. The love clash between the two guys with opposing backgrounds brings some quirkiness to the sitcom as none of them could reveal their identities to Diya. The show is loosely based on ‘Deewana Mastana’ (1997) although there are quite a few differences made in the storyline. Cast: ‘Krishna Gokani’ played the lead role as Diya after a long break of 4 years. ‘Ali Ashgar’ played the gangster Nathu after he received appreciation for his work in Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma. The rich guy Ranbeer’s character is played by ‘Ather Habib’ who played Akshara’s brother in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain.
