Vidrohi is a historical drama set in the times of the pre-independence era. There was the rule of Britishers, and it was set in 1817. The drama was set in Odisa in Paika Rebellion. The story revolves around the female warrior Kalyani. Britishers were very greedy and were robbing, plundering, and capturing the whole of India. After conquering Madras, Mysore and Bengal, Britishers were eyeing to capture Odisha, which was the spiritual capital of India at that time.
Odisha was the land of simple people and was a great warrior. The land of Lord Jagannath has witnessed the losing and regaining of self-respect. This rebellion against Britishers was considered one of the first revolutions against them. The hero of this uprising was Buxi Jagabandhu, the brave general of the Khordha District. In the first episode, it was shown that Buxi is praying to Lord Jagannath as his wife Radhamani is to conceive a child. His mother comes and asks him not to worry.
Soon Radhamani gives birth to a son. Her mother-in-law says that he is the thirteenth general of the Khordha district. Bahu, the commander of Buxi’s army, comes and gives bad news that Britishers are reaching the shore of Puri with an extensive fleet of ships. Buxi decides to leave to fight with them. What turns will events take? How will Kalyani save BuBritishers? In what circumstances does he marry the warrior princess Kalyani? Forms the crux
