Mumbai Police on a common platform. Bollywood, media and the people of Mumbai came up with this creative initiative to pay their tributes and honor the brave hearts protecting the city day and night with their effortless selfless service.
Like every year, 2015 witnessed the star- studded bevy gathering of police staff headed by Commissioner of Police Mr. Rakesh Maria.
Manish Paul, the renowned radio- jockey cum VJ and stand- up comedian of popular Indian television reality shows was the host. The show began with the inauguration ceremony and lighting of the lamps by Smt. Amruta Phadhnavis,
Mr. Rakesh Maria and the CEO of Sony Entertainment Television Mr. N. P. Singh. Famous celebrities like Indian cricketer
Shah Rukh Khan,
Ranveer Singh, Kangana Ranawat,
Sushmita Sen and many others graced this auspicious occasion. The function started with a full on power- packed performance by
Varun Dhawan, famous actor of Bollywood and son of director
David Dhawan. He danced to some grooving songs like ‘Saturday- Saturday’ and ‘Palat’. Next came the ‘Michael Jackson of Bollywood’
Hrithik Roshan dancing to one of his film’s song ‘Tu Tu Tu- Tu Meri’ from ‘
Bang Bang’. Later his father actor/ director Mr.
Rakesh Roshan joined him and the father- son duo danced to some amazing moves on ‘Aye Mere Dil’ from Hrithik’s debut film ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’. B- town’s heart- throb and chocolate boy
Ranbir Kapoor upped the heat by swinging to the dance number ‘Balam Pichkari’ from his own movie ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Dewaani’. Bigg Boss fame
Elli Avram maintained the whole excitement performing on some hip- hop tracks like ‘Bang Bang’, ‘Love Dose’ and ‘
Lovely’. Next came the newbie debutante of Bollywood Sushant Singh Rajput and rocked few scores like ‘1 2 ka 4’, ‘Pandeji Seeti’ and ‘Chinta Ta Chita Chita’. Madhuri Dixit Nene shared some funny light- hearted conversation with the host of the show Manish and congratulated the police staff on her behalf.
Among other performers
Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandes,
Sonakshi Sinha and Sophie Chaudhary kept the audience enthralled and entertained with their dance moves.
Himesh Reshammiya sang some captivating and soul touching notes like ‘Dard- e- Dilon’, ‘Ashiq Banaya’, ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’, ‘Hookka Bar’, ‘Rani Main Tu Raja’. Sajid- Wajid and
Kanika Kapoor also added to the list. The show was a grand success with two major highlights: One being the Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bacchan,
Boman Irani and
Sonu Sood dance to the ‘
Happy New Year’ song ‘India Waale’ while playing fun games with some policemen and secondly, singer Mika and actor Ranveer Kapoor joining
Shahid Kapoor on stage to dance on ‘Gandi Baat’.
