The Trap is a Hindi series aired on Doordarshan's DD Metro channel in 2002, Tuesday to Friday at 10 p.m. It was another attempt to solve the classic murder mystery and part of the final attempt to revive DD Metro, which was losing the battle after the release of DD Metro 9 Gold. The story revolves around a girl name Hema. She witnesses a murder accidentally on the way from her friend's birthday party. She is the only witness in the case. She manages to escape, but the killer finds her and kills her. The police identify the murderer but are unable to do anything. He is a powerful goon in the Mumbai underworld. Hema's sister Anuradha came to Mumbai to bring justice and truth to light. She meets her college friend Deepak who is a police officer. He is an Inspector of police. He agrees to help her.
