Hindi Cartoon Recess

Recess was a children's animated series that originally aired on ABC in 1997 in the United States. Since then, it has been dubbed and broadcasted in multiple countries. It was dubbed in Hindi and broadcasted on the Disney Channel in India. The series was created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere. Both of them served as the producers as well. The series was an instant hit and since then has been picked up for syndication in a lot of countries. Each of them has a unique personality and traits that set them apart. T.J. is the protagonist and the leader of his gang. He is one of the most mischievous kids and is always planning pranks.Mikey is a sophisticated and peaceful guy who is quite overlarge for his age. He has different interests than his friends like doing ballet. Ashley is the tomboy of the group and is a wrestling fan. She always tries to combat the stereotype of ‘Ashley.’ She is quite aggressive and often violent.

She is shown as to have a crush on T.J. Gus is the new kid on the block who has recently transferred to their school. Gus is a naive kid, however, an excellent dodge-ball player. Gretchen is the quintessential smart kid. She is dedicated to her studies and always eager to learn. However, her desire to learn is second to her group of friends. Vince is the athletic kid who takes part in every sport and playground games. He is T.J’s right-hand man.

The episodes are set around the break time these kids get in their school day – the recess. The recess is the representation of the freedom enjoyed by kids from the school and their teachers. The playground during the recess takes a life of its own, and the kids are part of an organized society with rules and laws. The playground has a king who looks to impose his will on the students. The king is a sixth grader named Bob. The show follows the adventure of the group as they tackle the strict teachers, the king and his men and other students.

Their adventures often mimic or satirize the society in general. For example, in one episode the playground is turned into a card based economy wherein every activity needs to be paid by a set number of cards. This leads to widespread panic and card trading as kids try to enjoy the break. Recess is a cult classic that is adored by a large number of people. The show often takes inspiration from pop culture in its animation, storylines or sometimes opening theme.
