Premiered on September 9, 2013, Raavi is the story of a small girl in a Punjabi family, who is made to dress like a boy and is named Ravinder, so as to protect her from a greedy man. Raavi’s mother takes a strong decision to dress her daughter like a boy. Eventually, Raavi finds a mobile phone with magical powers that will go on to help her in getting out of difficult situations. It is a light-hearted series which shows how Amrita, Raavi’s mother, takes care of her by protecting her from wrong people and hides her identity by dressing her up like a boy.

She shares a very powerful and caring bond with her daughter and dresses her like a girl when nobody is at home. It is telecasted on channel Big Magic from Monday to Friday. The story starts by showing a typical day in a happy Punjabi family and how it turns into a nightmare for them when Kawaljeet (Amrita’s husband) gets brutally murdered by his father`s brother, Shamsher. This incident fills their lives with a lot of vacuum. The story revolves around Amrita and how she takes care of her family and her little girl. She decides to keep her daughter’s identity hidden at all times. In the meantime, Raavi’s life undergoes a massive change after her grandfather’s death. Shamsher, after getting released from jail, has a bad eye on the property and tries to make things miserable for the family. To safeguard the property, Raavi is dressed like a boy so that she gets her share and remains safe.

One day Raavi finds a mobile phone with magical powers given by her friend Simsim. This mobile helps her to come out of tricky situations. Although she is a simple, smart and intelligent girl, her friends think her to be an alien with supernatural powers and tease her. The mobile phone proves to be a blessing for the entire family and saves them from unnecessary trouble.
