The story is set against the backdrop of the 18th century. It spins around Ahilya, a common girl, who becomes the queen. Ahilya was born on 31st May 1725 and died on 13th August 1795. Ahilya is one of the few talented women rulers of ancient India. During her reign, her country, Malwa, didn’t face any enemy attack. She is the one who spread industrialization along with Dharma. Her husband was killed in a war in 1754. In 1766, she lost her father-in-law. Then, she took responsibility and protected her kingdom from enemies. She is popular for establishing dharma shalas throughout the nation. Besides this, she also built many temples. Ahilya has two children, a son Malerao and a daughter Muktabai. She got her daughter married to a poor man Yashwantrao, who fought bravely in a battle. In the patriarchal society, her father-in-law Malhar Rao Holkar supported the girl to a greater extent and made her reach heights. The bonding between the father-in-law and the daughter-in-law is the highlight of this series.
