Naya Roop Nayi Zindagi is a reality show broadcasted on Sony Television channel. The show was premiered from May 1, 2008 and ended on July 3, 2008. True to its name, the series tells the tale of an amazing transformation in the life of candidates who suffer from visible facial and body scarring/deformation. The candidates are kept away from their families during the makeover period of several months and are given counselling, skills and cosmetic corrections that make them realize their true emotional and physical capacity. This much deserved - reality television show was an insight into the life of people who underwent facial correction surgeries pooled with fitness, proper dieting and fashion.
The series enlightens the audience about the life of 10 candidates who face low self-esteem due to their disfigurations and on how they overcome social outcast or social shyness with the help of medical and cosmetic experts. These experts help the candidates realize their true potential by training and counselling. The Adoptions of movies and serials from different languages into small screen and Bollywood is not much appreciated, but the Indian make of the popular American show “Extreme Makeover” is worth accolades.
