The channel Metro Gold was jointly ventured by Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) and DD Metro. The original Nine television network was owned by Kerry Francis Bullmore Packer. It is an Australian Company.  In India, the channel was launched on September 8, 2000. The shows of the channel made it popular within a short time. They telecasted their shows in the time slots of 9AM to 12PM and 7PM to 10PM every day.
