Maayke Se Bandhi Dor is a drama soap opera on Star Plus. The show was premiered on February 14, 2011 and ended on October 2, 2011. The soap was also aired in Afghanistan’s Ariana TV channel. The show has a total of 170 episodes. This is a family oriented serial wherein a girl takes a step to help her family financially even if she’s already married.

The story is about Avani (Shweta Munshi), who strives against the public conventions that involves the women in India. She is the breadwinner of her family consisting of her mother, Kaveri (Aishwarya Narkar), her brother, Manorhar and two sisters, Abha and Aditi. Her mother was very frantic and eager to get Avani married, but she has better plans. Avani wishes to find a house filled with happiness for her siblings. But her mother insisted and Avani agrees to get married with two conditions. The first one is to let her continue working after her marriage and the second one is to let her continue supporting her family with her salary.

Avani marries Bhaskhar (Rohit Khurana) who agreed with her conditions. The celebration started but Bhaskhar, along with his family has hidden intentions. They want to be the recipient of Avani’s high salary and her wealthy relatives. Later on, Bhaskhar changed his mind and asked Avani’s forgiveness. She forgives her husband and they started a new life. But, Lata (Rohini Hattangadi), the mother of Bhaskhar, dislikes Avani because she assumes that Avani is taking Bhaskhar away from her.

Meanwhile, Avani finds out that her father was still alive. Lata also finds out that Avani’s sister, Aditi was gone so Avani and her husband went to their house. In the end of the story, Avani finally forgives her father after abandoning them and Kaveri.
