Little Krishna is a well-known children’s television series, which was created by BIG Animation and co-created by India Heritage Foundation. It was produced by and , under the direction of and Vincent Edwards. Little Krishna series started airing on May 11, 2009 on Nickelodeon channel on India. The Little Krishna show was based on the story of and Six Goswamis of Vrindavana’s writings. It is the result of the 7-years of studies of ISKCON Bangalore’s devotees and the production work took two and a half years by the BIG Animation. It was written by , an Emmy Award winner.

It has a graphical style that combines both Indian and the traditional Western designs. The production has researched all the styles of the Vraj Land, where the stories happen 5000 years ago. All the essential feature of the detailing was carefully researched upon and reveals all the references and the designs that suit the modern formats. Initially, it was made in English and later dubbed in various Indian languages such as Hindi. Initially, the show targeted the viewers of ages 7 to 9 but as a whole, it was really a family entertainer. A total of 280 artists have worked all together for this one unique show.

This 3D computer-animated series portrays the childhood life of the Lord Sri Krishna, who was seen in the Vrindavana village and the life of the people who lives in that village. The series already completed 13 episodes, which runs for 23-minutes each. The makers use the conventional stories of Lord Krishna’s journey as a child and emphasize both the happy and sad times of his life. The young Krishna is an endearing and playful character who loves helping the villagers especially, his friends. He was loved by the Vrindavan, which is the land of harmony and serenity. This land was continuously threatened by Kamsa, an evil king. While Lord Krishna is busy with his boundless pranks and naughtiness, together with his friends, Kamsa was agitated to his belief that Krishna is his adversary. In the past, it was predicted that Kamsa’s evil reign was over and a redeemer will go down to earth so Kamsa can meet his worst opponent in life, which is, his death. Kamsa’s primary purpose in life was to search for his angel of death. Kamsa persistently sends his trusted succor, the vicious demon to kill Krishna. However, he was born to be a defender and defeats all the deadly demons.

The series received many awards at the FICCI Frames in 2008 including the Outstanding Indian Animated Content, Best Animated TV Series, Best Animated TV Episode and BEST VFX in a TV Episode. The show also received an award at The Golden Cursor for Best 3D Animation Film in 2008.
