Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir is the second season of the show. The first season was Lapataganj. The show was premiered on 10 June 2013 on Sab TV and is now off air. It was telecasted Monday to Thursday 9.30 to 10pm.The show in all covered 310 episodes and was a big hit among viewers.

Show Concept

Lapataganj which means lost place is inspired by the writings of Sharad Joshi, who was an eminent Hindi satirist. Satire is an important and inherent part of Indian humor. Lapataganj season 1 was a very successful attempt at capturing this and bringing satire to the Indian television screens. In season 2 the legacy is carried on and once again winning the audiences. The satire in this show is aimed at our society, at our politics and our leader through a fictionalised village called Lapataganj where the common man of India struggle everyday and yet manages to keep a smile on his face. The show portrayed the everyday ailments in the life of the common man in a very common setup of a typical fictionalized Indian village- Lapataganj.

Every story is a hilarious journey of residents of Lapataganj struggling for basic facilities yet residing there happily to find a way to their dreams.It won the Indian Television Academy Awards for Best Actor in a comic role - Rohitash Gaud.

Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir was the second season of the very popular series Lapataganj – Sharad Joshi Ki Kahaniyon Ka Pata. The series was first broadcast on 10 June 2013 on SAB TV and the last episode was aired on 15 August 2014. The entire series was based on the novel with the same name written by Sharad Joshi. The name Lapataganj means a lost place, and in the series it is a small imaginary town somewhere in India. The people who live there are completely forgotten by the system and the state institutions, and are left to live on their own, as they know best. Even though they struggle daily to manage the basic life necessities, they are still very happy and always find the funny and bright side of life.
 
Rohitash Gaud played the lead role of Mukundilal Sughandhilal Gupta, a simple 35 years old man who works as a post office clerk and is constantly with a smile on the face, regardless the situation, and for this role he won the award for best actor in comic role in 2010 (Zee Gold Awards) and 2011 (Indian Television Academy Awards). Sucheta Khanna who is well known for her roles in comic serials, played the role of Mukundilal's wife Indumati who is also a simple woman and a housewife. Other protagonists in the series are Kachua Prasad played by Vineet Kumar - an actor well known to the audience for his negative and comic roles in TV serials, the overprotective mother Mishri Mausi played by Shubhangi Gokhale, Pappu Pandey played by Abbas Khan and many others. The entire series was filled with satire and humorous scenes, which made it very popular among the TV audience in India and was the 2nd best aired series on SAB TV.
