Kuchh is Tara is an Indian television soap, which was aired on Sony TV from November 2007 at the 9 pm slot between Mondays to Thursdays. The show went off air in August 2008.
Kanya Godbole, hailing from a middle class family, tries to help her employer, a rich hotel owner, by pretending to be his daughter for the signing of a contract for a merger. However, she soon ends up falling in love with a man named Ayan Nanda. Though she tries to reveal her truth but as luck has it, she is unable to do so until before their engagement when everything gets revealed. Ayan’s mother forces him to deter all ties with Kanya and he complies. Kanya had kicked off a bad start with Ayan’s single uncle Ranbir, during her relationship with Ayan. Ranbir is forced to get married to her under the pressures of his mother. In spite of not liking Ranbir, she agreed to the marriage as she saw it as the only opportunity to prove her family values and say that she had not ‘trapped’ Ayan for his wealth. Over time, Ranbir and Kanya fall in love. He helps her get over her multiple personality disorder by taking her to a good doctor. One such doctor tries to flee with Kanya but the show ends on a happy note as Kanya and Ranbir reunite.
Dimple Jhangiani- KTK was her debut performance(Kanya) and proceeded with playing important characters in shows like ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil’, ‘Raja Ki Aaayegi Baraat’, ‘
Amrit Manthan’ and ‘Mrs Pammi Pyarelal’.
Akashdeep Saigal- Starting off as a model, Akashdeep’s claim to fame was the 1998 Gladrags Manhunt Contest. He appeared in a few music videos and then in a film titled ‘Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. However, his popular character has been Ansh Gujral in the epitomic ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. He also took part in a number of non-fiction shows such as ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ and ‘
Fear Factor’ and more. He played the character of Ranbir Nanda in ‘Kuch Is Tara’.
Vishal Singh- Vishal had started his acting career long back at the age of 8as he appeared as a child actor in the film ‘Rajput’. He played important characters in some shows on DD such as ‘Indradhanush’ and ‘
Dekh Bhai Dekh’. In ‘Kuch Is Tara’, he played the character of Ayan Nanda.
The show went off air as SET India took over Sony and decided to take it off air owing to its low ratings.
