The story starts with Shanti. Shanti is a young and beautiful girl. She is intelligent and aspires to be a journalist. She wants to cover a story on the biographies of Kamlesh and Raj as a part of her job. Kamlesh and Raj are wealthy and influential businessmen in the city. They are one of the top businessmen who are quite popular. They also have connections with the higher authorities of the law. Kamlesh and Raj want a movie on them rather than a story in the newspaper. Shanti agrees to it and starts observing the family under the premise of writing a story. Shanti has other plans. She plans to expose their family. 

Kamlesh’s wife is a film producer’s daughter. She has a failed career due to Kamlesh and Raj. Kamlesh has two sons- Ramesh and Somesh. Ramesh is a mentally challenged man. Somesh is a failed director whose work is constantly rejected by everyone. Kamlesh also has an adopted daughter, Nidhi. She later turns out to be the illegitimate daughter of Raj. Raj’s wife has found solace in ashrams and babas. She has permanently left home to be in an ashram. Their daughter Maya has slipped into depression due to the absence of her mother. He has two sons- Nihal and Rohan. Rohan is a womanizer and has a bad reputation among women.

A model, Sasha, threatens to expose him in public if he does not marry her. Rohan is forced to marry her. Nihal lives in America. When he returns to India, he brings an American woman, Michelle along with her. It is later revealed that Michelle is Nihal’s wife, and they got married in America. Shanti has a dark past. Her mother was a laborer who worked in the construction of the Shanti Mansion, the house of Kamlesh and Raj. When her mother was working here, she was raped by both of them. Shanti was born of this shameful act. She discovers either Kamlesh or Raj is Shanti’s father. Shanti intends to investigate to find out the truth and expose them to the public.
