Khamoshiyaan Kab Tak is a Hindi serial broadcast on the ZEE TV channel. The story revolves around a family consisting of a mother, father, and two daughters. The father is a strict man who criticizes his daughters on every occasion. Both the sisters get scolded for not sitting quietly during the prayer time. So they do not get breakfast as a way of punishing them. Geetanjali is the elder sister while Bhavanais the younger one. They both cry in their room when their mother comes into their room, bringing breakfast for them. Neelam is a little girl who lives with her father and grandmother. The grandmother wants her son,Asim, to remarry and bring a mother for Neelam. His mother threatens to never talk with him if he refuses to consider the marriage proposal from his aunt in Mumbai.

Asim Asthana agrees to go and meet Geetanjali for the marriage proposal. His first wife has died and he has a daughter of six years from his first marriage. But Ishwar Vashishth, Geetanjali’s father, thinks that Asim is a good match for his daughter as he is a chartered accountant and reads the Gita every morning. But Asim is ten to twelve years older than Geetanjali. Geetanjali’s mother worries about this fact. Ishwar himself was a widow and had his two daughters when his wife married him. He is twenty years older than his wife. Ishwar never lets his wife speak in front of anyone. Geetanjali is getting ready to meet Asim. But Asim falls in love with Sandhaya, Geetanjali’s mother, thinking that she is the elder daughter of Ishwar.

He is surprised to know that Sandhaya is the wife of Ishwar, not his daughter, seeing the age gap. Geetanjali tells Asim that she was ten years old when she first saw her mother. This is her step-mother. Asim’s aunt gives her holy water to spread on Geetanjali as it brings good luck. But he accidentally ends up spreading it on Sandhaya, Geetanjali’s mother. Asim is trying his best to create a bond between him and Geetanjali. Bhavana also finds a man named Rakesh who shows interest in her. Ishwar had been providing for Sandhaya’s parent’s hospital bills till the time they died and her brother’s education. The main reason Sandhaya married Ishwar was due to financial purposes. Geetanjali is not happy with this marriage. Asim wants to take Geetanjali to his house. But her father refuses to do so without any commitment. But, after going to Asim’s house, it is Sandhaya who bonds with his daughter. What has destiny planned for all of them?
