The show that has managed to bring Goosebumps and cold shivers with its spine chilling narration of horror stories is back with a new look "Haunted Nights – Kaun Hai Woh?" This horror show with a new and refreshing concept and star cast aired on August 26, 2013, on Sahara One. Seeing the promo of the show, one can say that Haunted Nights has managed to get the attention of the viewers right from the beginning.

The subject of horror, thrill, and suspense has always caught the interest of the Indian audience and provided a fascinating base for storytelling. In this new avatar, the show aims to entertain the audience with scarier and spine chilling moments and hope a good response for this show from the urban masses as well. The theme of "Haunted Nights – Kaun Hai Woh?" portrays the concept of the battle between good and evil. The story moves around the lives of two spiritually opposite people, Kunal, played by Vishal Gandhi and Bhakti, played by Jyotsna Chandola, who are brought together by destiny but have to go through various unpleasant situations till they are together forever. Kunal belongs to the wealthy Devraj family and falls in love with his childhood love, Vishaka, played by Vrinda Dawda.

His grandmother, Bhawaani Maa, is the head of the family and a firm believer of dark energies and evil forces. She manipulates the family to carry out her evil practices and gets Kunal married to innocent Bhakti, to gain a specific motive. Kunal is the messenger of Kalka, or the Devil, and Bhakti is the epitome of goodness, sacredness, and purity. The truth is that it is in Kunal’s horoscope that whoever he marries will die. And this is why Bhawani Maa, played by Vinita Malik, wants Kunal to get married to Bhakti, who is unaware of her intentions. The plan is to do a pooja for the womb of Vishaka so that she can give birth to Kalka’s heir after Bhakti's death.

Therefore, Bhakti is used as a puppet by Bhawani Maa, and even Kunal does not know that he has negative energies residing within him. This truth is revealed during the wedding of Kunal and Bhakti. Viewers will get a great shock when they will know that Bhakti is sacrificed so that her death can give way for Kunal and Vishaka marriage.
