Kab Kyon Kahan is the tenth short story of the Hindi horror/thriller show Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqueeqat broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television in August 2002 and was on-air for almost two years. This show was produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor and directed by Anurag Basu, Santram Verma, Garry Bhinder, Yash Chauhan and Deepak Chavan. This serial was basically an adaptation of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and cast famous actors like Hiten Tejwani (popularly known as Manav from Pavitra Rishta), Cezanne Khan (popularly known as Anurag Basu from Kasauti Zindagi Kii) and Gauri Pradhan (also known as Nandini Virani from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi).

It originally started with the story of Nikki, a young woman from a small time to start her life in a big city. There, a serial killer stalks her and kills almost everyone around her. Sometime after, she meets and marries a handsome police officer Raj who also has secrets of his own. Basically, She again finds herself alone when she realises that there is no one whom she can trust. Later after this story ended, the show started launching various episodic stories and Kab Kyon Kahan is one of them. The short title-series Kab Kyon Kahan is a supernatural thriller based in Mumbai. It had a total of thirteen episodes. This story was about a deadly vampire named Thakur Sujit Singh (played by Cezanne Khan) who craved for young human blood and haunted the city of Mumbai.

Due to his thirst for human blood, Thakur ends up killing Mayuri (played by Gauri Pradhan) and this starts a chain of events. Her boyfriend Pratham (played by Hiten Tejwani) who was a happy-go-lucky young man before her death seeks to take revenge for her along with her sister Gauri (also played by Gauri Pradhan). They are finally able to do it with the help of Professor Samuel (played by Ali Asgar) by finding the ash of the vampire Thakur and destroying it. This short story had provided the show Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqueeqat with a boost. In fact, SET V-P Sunil Lulla himself had said that the weekend franchise of the show had grown with the launch of Kab Kyon Kahan. Producer Ekta Kapoor also had similar views about the show. She went as far as to say that this new series has reformed the weekend television serial pattern and is one of the most viewed shows of the time.
