Veera is the short name for the serial title “Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Veera.” It is a Hindi soap opera with a Punjabi backdrop. Veera started premiering on Star Plus in India on 29th October 2012. The show is broadcasted from Monday to Saturday at 10:30 PM IST. The story is about the unique and unbreakable relationship between a brother and a sister. The story starts from the childhood of the lead actors, Rannvijay (Rannvijay) and Veera. Due to complex circumstances, Rannvijay had to bring home his paternal half-sister Veera when she was a baby. From that moment, Rannvijay becomes a father figure for Veera. He takes care of her, from baby feeding to her studies. They share a strong bond wherein they find happiness by supporting each other and making sacrifices. The relationship that developed from childhood gets stronger as they grow, and the story takes a leap of 15 years. The story takes the viewers through their struggles and tribulations and how they come out of those problems keeping their values and the relationships strong. The series went on until 8th August 2015 and was very well received by the audience.
The serial’s popularity on Hindi television helped it bag many awards. In 2013, the serial won ITA Awards under three categories, Best Serial (Drama), Waseem Sabir for Best Director (Drama), Harshita Ojha, cast as child Veera for (the Most Promising Child Star). In the same year, the serial won Star Parivaar Awards under four categories: Favourite Chhota Sadasya for Bhavesh Balchandani (cast as child Rannvijay), Favorite Behen for Harshita Ojha, Favourite Maa for Sneha Wagh (cast as Ratanjeet), and Favourite Mazedar Sadasya for Shagufta Ali (cast as Chaiji). Also, Bhavesh Balchandani won two Indian Telly Awards 2013 for the best child actor and Popular Child Artist (Male). In 2014 the serial won two STAR Parivaar Awards - Digangana Suryavanshi cast as young Veera as Favourite Beti and Shivin Narang cast as young Rannvijay won for Favorite Beta.
1. Digangana Suryavanshi is a television actress born on 15th October 1997 in Mumbai. She is a multitalented person with an interest in writing, sketching, singing, and painting. By 15, she launched her lyrical book “Waves: The Endless Emotions’ in English. She started her career as a child artist in Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat 2002 aired on Sony TV, and Shakuntala telecasted on Star One in 2009. She appeared in an episodic role in Krisshna Arjun on Star Plus in 2005. She played the role of Palakshi Tarachand Mathur in Ruk Jaana Nahin on Star Plus in 2011. In 2012, she acted as Nuzzhat Ahmed Khan in Qubool Hai on Zee TV. For the first time, she is playing the lead role in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Veera started on Star Plus in 2013. Diganagana replaced the child Veera, played by HarshitaOjha, after a 15-year leap in the story. She won Favorite Beti Award on Star Parivaar Awards in 2014 for her splendid performance in and as Veera.
2. Shivin Narang is popularly known as Yuvraj in Suvreen Guggal-Topper of the year and Rannvijay in Veera on Indian television. He has recently begun his career in the Indian Television Industry with lead roles. He was born on 7th August 1990 and grew up in New Delhi. He is a commerce graduate and also completed BBA in Delhi. He was into sports. He is a national shooter and athlete. Later, he started modeling and entered the TV industry. He made his debut as Yuvraj in Suvreen Guggal-Topper of the year telecasted on Channel V. He played the role of Rannvijay in Veera. He received the Favorite Beta Award on Star Parivaar Awards in 2014 for his performance as Rannvijay in Veera.
3.Sneha Wagh is a TV actress. She was born on 4th October 1987. Sneha is a Computer Science graduate. She did a filmmaking course at London Film Academy in the UK and is a certified film director. She did theater in Marathi. She made her TV debut in and as Jyoti on Imagine TV. Currently, she plays the role of Ratan (Ratanjeet Kaur), mother of Rannvijay. She received the Favorite Maa award at ITA Awards in 2013 for her character in Veera as Ratanjeet.
4. Farnaz Shetty was born in Mumbai. She loves painting. She made her debut on television as a friend of the lead actress in Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat. Later, Farnaz was seen in a small role as a divorcee in Balika Vadhu airs on Colors. Farnaz played the role of Gunjan in Veera. Gunjan is the childhood friend of Rannvijay. Farnaz’s role as young Gunjan started after the leap. As a young girl, Gunjan aspires to marry an NRI and settle in Canada. However, certain conditions made her marry her childhood friend Rannvijay. She fell in love with Rannvijay soon after.
5. Vishal Vashishtha was born in Kolkata. Though he was shy as a kid, he became extroverted as he grew older. He planned to study biotech but later moved to Commerce. He then started learning dance and martial arts. He came to Mumbai for graduation, and during the same time, he pursued a 3-months course in acting. He initially started with commercials ads and then worked with a production team. He made his debut as Ayyan in Crazy Stupid Ishq, which was broadcasted on Channel V. He played a negative role as Baldev in the show Ek Veer Ki Ardass- Veera airs on Star Plus.

Veera is a popular soap opera, the story of which revolves around a few characters spending their lives in a small town of Punjab named Pitampura. The first episode of this serial was telecasted on 29th October 2012 on Star Plus and is still running with a huge fan following.
The story starts with the base of a small boy named Rannvijay, popularly called Ranvi, taking care of his half-sister from her father’s extra-marital affair. Ranvi’s mom denies taking care of the infant girl, and his dad also leaves the family and goes away. Ranvi brings up his sister and supports her through all her thick and thin. Ranvi names his half-sister Vira and loves her a lot.
Once the head of the village leaves, a new leader is selected. He is also from one of the wealthiest families in the village. He has two children named Gunjan and Baldev. Baldev competes with Ranvi in all situations, from studies to any other kind of competition. The story keeps moving until Veera goes out of the village to complete her studies.
After the initial phase, the story leaps of 15 years wherein all the children have grown up; Veera has completed her studies and comes back to the village. Ranvi likes Gunjan, but she likes someone else and commits to him. Somehow, Ranvi and Veera know that the other person is ditching Gunjan and stops her marriage. Gunjan does not take this fact in the right spirit and creates havoc in the life of Ranvi and Veera. She tells Veera’s birth secret to her, and somehow she has to get married to Ranvi. She does change even after marriage, despite Ranvi trying very hard. After some time, she falls for Ranvi, and they start living happily.
Meanwhile, even Veera falls for her friend named Karan, but she finds out he is not a good person and breaks up with him. Baldev consoles Veera and falls in love with her. Baldev proposes Veera, but she denies it. Veera also knows that their house is on sale now and promises her father, Sampooran, that she will somehow save her ancestral property and fulfill her father’s dream of making a school for the needy.
The story has taken a beautiful turn when Veera starts loving Baldev after their trip to London, and they both have expressed their love to each other. Even Veera’s stepmother, Ratan, has accepted Veera as her daughter. Now, Baldev and Veera are enjoying their initial days of love and are on the verge of telling their families about their love.
Digangana Suryavanshi as Veera has been in the TV serial industry since childhood and had debuted in a serial named “Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeequat” in 2002. She has appeared in Krishna Arjun, Shakuntala, Ruk Jaana Nahi, Qubool Hai (now dropped out of it). Her recent one is Veera, wherein she is playing the part of Veera. She was born and bought up in Mumbai and has achieved all this only at 16. Apart from acting, she also writes and sings.
Shivin Narang, as Rannvijay, started his career with a popular show named “Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the Year” by playing an important part as Yuvraj Singh. He is from New Delhi and is 23 years.
Vishal Vashishtha as Baldev - He has now become one of the important faces of Indian TV drama. He started his career with a few commercial ads. He parallelly applied for a role in Crazy Stupid Ishq shown on channel V. Within a week, he got selected and played the role of Ayaan and got a fan following for himself. Now, he is doing a great job in Veera as Baldev.
Farnaz Shetty as Gunjan is from Mumbai and is 24 years of age. She debuted in the Hindi TV industry with soap operas named “Dil ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat and “ Balika Vadhu.” She has charmed her audience with her acting skills and has made her place in this industry.
