With the backdrop of Haryana, the serial explores the tug-of-war between devotion and blind faith. The story traces the life of a seven-year old whose life turned upside down when she was accidentally dropped in a God-woman’s ‘hundi’ as an infant which led her to the burden of being a ‘blessed child.’ Devanshi is a story of a young girl born in a small village of Haryana, unwittingly is used as a pawn to challenge the supremacy of a god-woman. The child ‘Devanshi’ who loses her parents at a very tender age is brought up by adoptive parents. In a bid to challenge the position, power, and hold of Maa Kusum Sundari in their village, Devanshi is used by her adoptive mother, Sarla.

It shows how Devanshi, an innocent girl who doesn’t even comprehend the meaning of God is made as popular as Goddess. After the 14 year leap, Devanshi is shown to be grown up as an educated woman wants to free the villagers from the clutches of blind faith and the fraudulent Maa Kusum Sundari. The serial charts the journey of an innocent seven-year old who was thrusted into a deep manipulative world where her innocence and childhood was robbed and transforms into a motivated young woman who wants to change the mentality of the villagers and bring betterment to the village. A classic tale of good versus evil, this story showcases that truth always triumphs over lies and falsehood. Up until the leap, the character of the seven-year old Devanshi was portrayed by the brilliant child artist Kashvi Kothari.
