The Indian dance reality show Dancing Queen was first premiered on Colors on December 12, 2008. The attraction of the show was Bollywood divas that had performed for the first time in the show. The ten most beautiful and talented dancers who are well known for their jhatkas, latkas and matkas including Mink Brar, Sanober Kabir, Sambhavna Seth, 'Swetha Menon', Anita Hassanandani, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Ishita Arun, Bruna Abdullah, Meghna Naidu and Deepshikha Nagpal, had a bootylicious war each other to win the 25 lakhs, the grand prize of the show.
The dance diva Hema Malini and the Rockstar of 70's, the charming and stylish 'Jeetendra' were the judges and the main attraction of the show. In this distinctive concept, Dancing Queen paired each diva with a candidate who would be her partner and protégé throughout the show and whom she would have to teach or mentor. The show was an amazing platform for these stars. There was a head-to-head competition between these Jodi’s for the grand finale of Dancing Queen, where two mentors and their partners compete each other in a final dance and the winner walks away with the prestigious title of the Dancing Queen!
