Star Parivaar Awards 2009 Hindi tv-shows on STAR PLUS

The Star Parivaar Awards show of 2009, in sponsorship with Vatika Shampoo, took place on the 7th of June, 2009. The event began with a dance on the title track of the award show. The hosts for the evening comprised of the star cast of the show ‘Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai’, that is, Angad Hasija, Kinshuk Mahajan, Sara Khan and Parul Chauhan. The CEO of Star Plus, Mr. Uday Shankar, opened the show with a speech thanking every unit member of every show for their hard work and perseverance and throwing light on some of the channel’s upcoming shows.

The first category of awards went to the elder generation of the shows. The presenters for these awards were Hina Khan and Karan Mehra. The Favourite Buzzard Award went to Dadi from ‘ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, the Favourite Maa Award winner was Gayatri again from the same show, and the Favourite Pita Award winner was Kuckoo Narang from ‘Sabki Ladli Bebo’. This was followed by a comedy sketch performed by Anand Tiwari as doodhwala and Mona Singh from ‘ Aap Ki Kachehri’. They each spoke about their favourite individuals from each category. The next award was the Yaadgar Pal (Non-Fiction) Award, won by ‘Aap Ki Kachehri – Kiran Ke Saath’, and the Yaadgar Pal (Fiction) Award won by ‘Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai’.

‘Kanwaljit’ and Avinash Wadhawan presented Aalekh the Favourite Beta Award and Bebo the Favourite Beti Award. Moving forward, the next performance was presented by the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai team of actors; wherein they enacted the marriage preparation of Akshara and Naitik. It was awesome. Coming back to the awards, the next few awards were Favorite Bhai won by Yudhishtra - Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat, Favorite Behen won by Hetal - Bure Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum, Prakash Chand Sharma from Bidaai won Favorite Sasur, Favorite Saas was won by Daadi – Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain and these awards were presented by Puneet Tejwani and Ashita Dhawan. Continuing with the joyful mood, there was a performance dedicated to the legendary romantic couples on Star Plus performed by Shaurya and Suhani, Heer and Prem, Bebo and Amrit (of Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke).

Continuing with the awards, there was a special award, the Star Plus Vishesh Samman given to Rajesh Shahi (Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain and Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai), and to Dr. Kiran Bedi (Aap Ki Kachehri – Kiran Ke Saath).Next couple of awards were for the new members in the Star Plus Parivaar, and the categories were Favourite Naya Sadasya (Female) which was won by Akshara and Favourite Naya Sadasya (Male) which was won byNaitik, both being from the same show. Next category of awards was Favourite Bahu won by Ragini; Mazedaar Sadasya won by Jalpa Manavati and Favourite Dushman won by Choti Rani.These awards were presented by Sarita Joshi and Alok Nath.Before moving on to the next few awards, there was a beautiful performance to enlighten the mood of the audiences and the viewers by Yudishthir and Rani from ‘Guzarish’. The next award categories were Favourite Yogya Jodi won by Naitik and Akshara, Favourite Devrani won by Gayathri, Favourite Jethani won by Bhabhi Maa and Favourite Bhabhi won by Varsha, all from the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain.

Post this there was a dance by Bhakti and Mohan on the title track of the movie ‘Kisna’, succeeded by a dance by the couple Daljeet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot. The next set of awards were given by Aditi Gupta and Prem Harshad Chopra. They were as follows - Farah Khan won the Favourite Judge Award for Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar; Favorite Pratyayogi won by Shaleen & Daljeet - Nach Baliye 4; Favourite Host won by ‘ Shaan’ - Amul Star Voice of India.

This was followed by the grand performances of the hit TV couples - Alekh and Sadhna, Ranvir and Ragini and the sweetest Naitik & Akshara on the song Marjani. The final category of awards were presented by Sanjeev Sethi and Lata Sabarwal. They were - Favorite Pati won by Aaleek - Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai; Favorite Patni won by Sadhna - Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai; Favorite Jodi won by Heer and Prem - Kis Des Mein Hain Mera Dil. This marked the end of a wonderful and mesmerising evening!
