Indian Television Academy Awards 2012 had been the twelfth year of its celebration. It is one of the most coveted stamps of brilliance on the marks of Television. The main event took place at the Andheri Sports Complex, on 4 November. The performers who graced the night with their acts were Hina Khan, Gurmeet Choudhary, Ritwik Dhanjani, and so on. One of the acts was designed and performed by the personalities of Jhalak Dikhla Ja, along with the little masters of the very famous Dance India Dance. The Best Director in Comedy was handed out to Shashank Bali, for F.I.R. The Best Actor in Drama was awarded to Ram Kapoor, for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The Best Actor in Comedy was given to Dilip Joshi, for Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah, and Kapil Sharma, for Kahani Comedy Circus Ki. The Best Serial in Drama was awarded to Parvarrish, Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, and Tony & Deeya Singh. The Best Serial in Comedy was awarded to F.I.R. by Edit II Productions Pvt. Ltd. The Best Actress in Drama was given to Sweta Tiwari, for Parvarrish and Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi.

The Best Actress in Comedy was awarded to Bharti Singh, for Kahani Comedy Circus Ki. The Best Thriller or Horror Serial was given to Gumrah the End of Innocence by Balaji Telefilms Ltd. in association with Lost Boy Productions. Karanvir Bohra was awarded the Best Actor in a Negative Role, for Dil Se Di Dua Saubhagyavati Bhava. The Best Actress in a Negative Role was presented to Hema Singh, for Kairi and Rishta Khatta Meetha. GR8! Performer of the Year for Male was given to Vivian Dsena, for Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. GR8! Performer of the Year for Female was awarded to Rati Pandey, for Hitler Didi. The Best Interstitial or Filler was presented to Lets Fly the Flag. The Best Mini-series was awarded to Yoga Sutra, NDTV INDIA. The Best TV Documentary was awarded to India’s Abandoned Child.

The Best Television Event was given to Filmfare Awards, which is executed and produced by Cineyug globally. The Best Music & Film-based Show was attributed to Dance India Dance Li'L Masters Season 2 by Frames Production. The Best Anchor in Music & Film-based Show was awarded to Manish Paul, for Jhalak Dikhla Ja. The Best News or Current Affairs Show was awarded to Zindagi Live (Godhra). The Best Anchor in News or Current Affairs Show was presented to Rajdeep Sardesai, for Ground Zero Gujrat. The Best Talk or Chat Show was presented to The Late Night Show, by Undercover Productions on Colors.

The Best Anchor in Talk or Chat Show was awarded to Sumeet Raghvan, for JAY HIND. The Best Game or Quiz Show was presented to Tech Grand Masters 2. The Best Anchor in Game or Quiz Show was presented to Rajiv Makhni, for Tech Grand Masters 2. The Best Reality Show was awarded to Survivor India. Desh ka Ladla or Ladli was presented to Amrita Mukherjee, for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Under Jury Technical Awards, Best Art Direction was awarded to Omung Kumar, for Masterchef India 2. Best Teleplay was offered to Bhavani Iyer, for Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.

Best Dialogues was awarded to Usha Dixit, for Balika Vadhu Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte. Best Videography was given to Sanjay K Memane, for Balika Vadhu Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte. Best Lyricist was given to Priya Panchal, for Afsar Bitiya. Best Editing was awarded to Amit Kalra, for Making of Foodistan. Best Costumes was awarded to Winnie Malhotra and Neelu Shroff, for Balika Vadhu Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte. Best Visual Effects was presented to Abhimanyu Singh, for Fear Files.

Under Popular Awards, Best Serial as Desh Ka Dhaaravahik was presented to Diya Aur Baati Hum, by Shashi Sumeet Productions. Best Actor as Desh Ka Sitara was awarded to Barun Sobti, for Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, and Sameer Soni, for Parichay Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka. Best Actress as Desh Ki Dhadkan was presented to Nia Sharma, for Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. Best News Channel in English was awarded to CNN-IBN. Best News Channel in Hindi was given to Aaj Tak. Best Entertainment Channel was awarded to Star Plus.
