Hindi Awards 8th Indian Telly Awards

Indian Telly Awards is an Indian Entertainment Award Show presented by "Indiantelevision.com." Excellence in Television Industry is accorded with the Awards. It started in the year 2001 on 6TH July. For the initial four years, the television coverage of the show was on Star Plus. From the year 2005 to 2009 it was broadcasted on Sony Tv. Presently the Award Show is featured on &TV. The awards are not only given for on-screen excellence but also for off-screen brilliance. Anil Wanvari presented the concept of the Show. He is also a member of International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The venue of the first Indian Telly Awards Show was Mumbai, and actor Alyy Khan hosted the Show. Actor Ram Kapoor and his wife Gautami Kapoor hosted the show in 2001 and 2003. Cyrus Brocha and Mini Mathur hosted the 8TH Telly Awards. The jury of the show comprised of the famous personalities from the Television Industry. There were Judges for various categories with at least one of them a known performer in that field. Different types of awards given were: Technical Awards like Videography, Costumes, Music, Director in various Genre (Soap & Drama, Sitcom, Thriller, Non-Fiction).

Trade awards to recognize the performances by TV production houses during a period like TV Production House Award. Programming Awards presented for excellence in programs of different Genres like Best Cookery Show, Health and Fitness Show, Lifestyle & Fashion Show and many others. Jury Awards rewarded to the artists of various Shows like Best Actor and Actresses in Comic, Supporting, Negative and lead role. The winners of multifarious award categories were: Best Actor in a Negative Role-Jatin Shah (Kasturi), Best Actor in a Supporting Role-Jay Bhanushali (Kayamath), Best Daily Serial-Sapna Babul Ka-Bidaai, Best Actor in a Lead Role-Sharad Malhotra (Banoo Main Teri Dulhann), Best Kids Program-Boogie Woogie, Best Actress in a Negative Role- Surekha Sikri ( Balika Vadhu), Best Actress in a Lead Role-Parul Chauhan (Sapna Babul Ka-Bidaai), Best Child Actress-Avika Gor (Balika Vadhu), Best Actress in a Comic Role-Sucheta Trivedi (Baa Bahoo Aur Baby).

The Show celebrated the 50 glorious years of Indian television. The actor Ronit Roy gave a tribute to the Indian cinema. He depicted through his performance that how the trends in Film industry have changed over the years. Purbi Joshi and Ali Asgar performed a comedy act. The Show was full of Humour and Entertainment.
