National Film Awards took place in Chennai, India on November 1971 conducted by the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the Indian Films that get released in 1970. The national film awards are presented by the Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The jury members are selected from 4 states: Central, Bombay, Calcutta and Madras and, the central jury was headed by Justice G.D Khosla. Dadasaheb Phalke Award was given to B.N Sircar being a Producer with a cash price of 11,000 rupees along with a shawl.
