Chetan-Anand.jpg Chetan Anand (from 3 January 1921 to 6 July 1997) was a famous director of Hindi Films and elder brother of the film actor Dev Anand. He made his debut with the film Neecha Nagar, which received the Best Film award at the first ever Cannes Film Festival in 1946 and also the first Indian film to get international recognition. After that he set up Navketan Films in association with his younger brother Dev Anand in 1949.Chetan Anand was born in Lahore, British India and studied Hindu scriptures from Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya.
