English Web Series Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is a coming of age-comedy-teen drama web series telecasted on Netflix. There are two seasons with ten episodes each, and each episode is 22-31 minutes long. Season 1 was released on 27 April 2020, while season 2 was released on 15 July 2021. The show has been renewed for another season by Netflix. The show is about an Indian-American high school girl, Devi Vishwakumar, who loses the use of her legs for three months after her father's untimely death. Her father had died of a heart attack during Devi's musical concert at her high school.

His death affects her emotionally, socially, and personally. With the help of her best friends, Fabiola Torres and Eleanor Wong, she tries to change her social status by sleeping with her long-time crush, Paxton Hall-Yoshida, but her grief stops her from taking any major step in life. She also has a nemesis, Ben Gross, with whom she competed all her life but gained feelings for him after he helped her. Devi also goes to a professional therapist, Dr. Jamie Ryan, to help her sort out her grief, love, confusion, and more. She helps Devi realize her feelings and help her come to terms with them and not make mistakes that could hurt her and those around her.

She also struggles with her relationship with her mother, leading to fights and arguments with her. One of the fights led her to wish that her mother was the parent that died, but they reconciled an episode later while spreading her father's ashes in the sea. Her childhood friends, Eleanor and Fabiola, also struggle in their personal life, with Eleanor chasing her passion for acting and Fabiola struggling with her sexuality.

In season 2, Aneesa, another Indian-American, joins her high school, and Devi feels insecure as she is not the only Indian-American anymore and resents her for that reason. But, after spending some time with her, she warms up to Aneesa. She gets jealous when she sees Aneesa and Ben flirting with each other and spreads a rumor about her that she is anorexic, which turns out to be true. Devi apologizes to Aneesa, who accepts the apology after some hesitation, and they go back to being friends.

At the end of the year, there is a winter dance in which Fabiola goes with her girlfriend, Eve, and they get crowned the Cricket Queen and Cricket Queen and confess their love for each other. Eleanor dances with Trent, Paxton's friend, Ben dances with Aneesa, and Devi goes with Paxton. The second season ends with Ben realizing that he was not Devi's second option.
