The Smurfs is a fantasy-comedy television series aired on NBC. Hanna-Barbara Productions produced this series. It has been directed by “Don Lusk”. Theme music composer is Tom Worrall and Hoyt Curtin. But the ninth season has been an entirely different one compared to other seasons, as the eight episodes are showed in Smurfs village, whereas the last season was forecasted taking the events like, travelling through the time, around the world at various periods.

The characters in this story mainly are Papa Smurf, Grandpa Smurf, Baby Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, Handy Smurf, Greedy Smurf, Lazy Smurf, Jokey Smurf, Painter Smurf, Wild Smurf, Snappy Smurf and smuggle Smurf. All these characters were pictured well in the story. The first episode starts with “The Smurfs that time forgot” and the series end with the episode “Hearts N Smurfs”. The series starts with an introduction as, the Papa Smurf and some other Smurfs enter with the time scrolls into a chamber, and soon get transported to Ancient Middle East when Grandpa Smurf arranges the scrolls with Ruby Smurf.

There the Smurfs are chased by a Genie. In the process of escape from a genie, they get transported to the past at a prehistoric age, where they get encountered with a giant dinosaur and start hiding from it before the tail of the dinosaur crashes the stone. From there, the story starts, where the Smurfs had to find the time crystals and assemble them without using the magic and go back to the present. The series ends when a spell has been put on Brainy Smurf by Gargamel’s Dutch Doppelganger, when they take over Cupid’s job, which resulted in causing all his fellow Smurfs to spread nastiness.

Hence, the last season of the Smurfs series wasn’t a great success. Unlike other seasons, unfortunately, the shift of the series to the time travel episodes signalled a downfall, resulting which, it ended becoming the final season for the cartoon show in general. Therefore, all the seasons went well but last season ended up the show completely.
