Later, it is revealed that she was indeed right about Cathy having ulterior motives and that she wants to seduce her husband.

However, her plan to do so fails. Nearing the end of the season, due to a turn of events, Andy buys back Sabre and ultimately fires Robert California, played by James Spader. During the season, several guest stars have appeared, including Josh Groban – an actor and singer in real life. This particular season didn't go down too well with the critics and audiences alike. Much has been said about the departure of Steve Carell and the critics were now concerned about the next season of the show. The season also holds a record low viewership in the history of The Office.
