The season starts with all the main characters working for Pearson Specter Litt. Donna has left Harvey, and she has started working for Louis. Harvey wants her back, but because of his ego, he lets her go. Louis is over the moon after being named as the senior partner at the firm. Harvey has started to see a psychologist. Because of Donna left him, he has become a victim of recurring panic attacks. Jack Soloff is another partner at the firm who is jealous of the way Harvey is conducting his business. Mike and Rachel are engaged to each other. They are waiting for the right moment to give this news to everyone. Mike has taken the case on good faith, and after he realizes that he doesn't have enough resources, he goes to Rachel's father asking for help. Louis, meanwhile us having some money problems at the firm. Harvey usually doesn't take on divorce cases. Mike is having trouble working with Robert Zane. He realizes that the two of them have different notions about what constitutes justice.

In the second half of the season, Mike is arrested for fraudulent conduct. He has been accused of faking his papers and telling everyone that he has graduated from Harvard. Harvey had resigned from his position to save the firm. After seeing Mike get arrested, he comes back to firm to get his friend out of jail. Jack is putting the blame on Jessica's for all the troubles which have been surrounding the firm. Louis is having personal problems to take care of. The engagement between Rachel and Mike has been called off. The public Prosecutor is not willing to step down from her position, and she is willing to do anything to destroy Harvey Specter. In the end, Mike cuts out a deal with his Prosecutor and goes to jail. It is later revealed that the jury would have voted not guilty. In the end, Mike goes to jail with Harvey watching from his car.
