Sherlock is an American- British crime television show. It has its adaptation from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective tales. This outstanding story is written by Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat and Stephen Thomson and composed by David Arnold and Michael Price. Stars of this serial are Benedict Cumberbatch, who enacted the role of the famous Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman, who essayed the role of Doctor John Watson. The show was edited by Charlie Philips, Mali Evans and Tim Porter.

Ten Episodes have been released till now, with three- part series telecast in 2010,2012, and 2014. The fourth special series has commenced to be filmed in April 2016 but will release in 2017.The series was filmed in Cardiff, Wales with North Gower Street In London. Sherlock has nominated for many valuable awards like as BAFTAs, Emmy's and a Golden Globe. The show garnered awards in three categories at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards including Amazing Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Television Show for Steven Moffat, outstanding lead actor in Miniseries or a movie for Cumberbatch and perfect, outstanding supporting actor in the Ministeries or a movie for Freeman. Sherlock is jointly produced by BBC and WGBH Boston. This was for its Master Anthology series aired by PBS.

Two years later, Sherlock won Outstanding Television Movie, with this the show also won the Peabody Award in the year 2011.As per the success got to this show, the show became most wanted of United Kingdom's television. Three series, each comprising three episodes, have been released. The first series premiered in October 2010 on Public Broadcasting Service in the United States. The second series premiered in May 2012 in United States after this the third series was broadcast on 19 January 2014 in the US.

Story of the episodes of Sherlock(Series-3):

The Sherlock series-3 first premiered on 1 January 2014."The Empty Hearse" was the first episode of Sherlock series -3 which was penned by Mark Gatiss and helmed by Jeremy Lovering. Moffat and Gattis announced on Twitter that the third series had been commissioned at the time with series two and this a part of the resolution to "The Reichenback Fall" was filmed with the series two. He didn't tell anything about either death of Moriarty was fake or not at the end of the 2series, but he suggested that Moriarty will not appear heavily in 3series. The series took inspiration from the "The Adventure of the Empty House" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The episode progresses with Sherlock Holmes coming back to London and again seeing John Watson and their following cracking of an underground terrorist network. With this, the show became most wanted show of UK television which got the highest rating i.e., 12.72 of UK TV in 2014. The second episode was "The Sign Of Three" which was written by Stephen Thompson, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. This episode is inspired by "The Sign of the Four" and first premiered on January 5, 2014. In this episode, Watson and Mary Morgan got married. The story is about the reception, marriage life of both. The third or the final episode named "His Last Vow" was first broadcast on BBC One on 12 January 2014.This episode has written by Steven Moffat and directed by Nick Hurran.

This show is inspired by "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton". In this episode the villain was introduced whose name did not open in the first episode. Watson and Holmes tried many attempts to get Magnussen arrested ,but they failed. Holmes shoots Magnusse to stop him from blackmailing Mary Watson.Mycraft arranges that Sherlock will be exiled from UK instead of being tried for murder. The third series aired in US on PBS for a span of three weeks, telecasting late January to early February 2014.
