A popular series in America, Mad Men, is a period piece. Matthew Weiner is the creator and the executive producer along with Scott Hornbacher, Maria Jacquemetton, Andre Jacquemetton, and Janet Leahy. Weiner Bros. is the production company backing the show with the help of Lionsgate Television, Silvercup Studios, and @radical.media. Lionsgate Television is the sole holder of the distribution rights. Like all the preceding seasons, this one too focuses on Don Draper, who is the protagonist.

Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, the advertising agency, has come along a long way from where it started. However, one of its shareholder, Don Draper is going through an emotional turmoil. His divorce with Betty has made him bitter and turned him into an alcoholic. He feels lost all the time and begins to visit the prostitutes. He also sleeps with his secretary who secretly harbors feelings for her. Hurt and anguish due to his indifference; she resigns from her position. Betty and his relationship worsen, and she cuts off his visiting days with their children. To a take a break from all this he goes to California to meet Anna. Due to a series of bizarre incidents Don comes to know that she is a cancer patient and has very few days to live.

In spite of this, he decides to leave California and lies to her that he will visit her along with his children. Meanwhile, due to Sally's antics, Betty starts to feels that she needs help and sends her to a therapist despite Don's opposition. On the other hand, Pete becomes a father to Trudy's child, and Peggy befriends a photo editor who is a lesbian and they start dating each other. Peggy's relationship with Don deteriorates as he wins an award for which Peggy worked very hard.

She is also unable to attend her surprise birthday party which Mark had arranged for her because Don gives her extra work. Anna comes in Don's sleep. He wakes up and instinctively knows that she has passed away. Her death has a positive effect on him. He cuts down on his intake of liquor. FBI calls Don for routine inquiry. His professional life improves. He also tries to better his relations. Will he succeed or will another storm enter his life? The plot will reveal the answer to this question as it will unravel.
