Castle Season 4 English TV SHOWS on ABC
Written By - Team Nettv4u

Season 4 of Castle starts off with the almost perfect subtitle to their first episode “Rise” where the heat continues over after the infamous shooting that takes place at Captain Montgomery’s funeral Kate is shot. Rick’s confession of love for her in that dire situation hailed the end of an intriguing season 3, leaving viewed in deep anticipation of what happens next.

After the chaos subsides, Castle learns that Kate, apparently, has no memory of the shooting which also meant that she did not remember anything about his love confession. She turns curt and asks for time off from him saying that she’ll call when she’s up for conversations again. Once she returns to work, Castle is nowhere to be found after his relentless tries of contacting her. Captain Gates, with her tough character display, is new at the precinct and works on her immediate orders of excluding Castle from the gang which Ryan puts it as her precinct’s got no room for a dilettante writer playing cop.

With the new air around, Kate finally meets Castle at a book signing. He’s not interested and rather angry initially but later calms down knowing that her boyfriend (at least he was, during the shooting time) was no longer in the web of connections. She admits that she does not have it in her to take up new relationship pressure just yet, not until she solves her mother’s murder case. Castle, sweet as he always is, agrees to help and the duo gets back together as partners with subtle helps form the mayor, thus putting Capt. Gates off. Alexis (Castle’s daughter) is not too happy with his intense involvement in finding out the shooter and asks him grow up. Later he explains that he needs to be there for Kate because she’s going to be safe only if she doesn’t show too much involvement in the case. Kate, on the other hand goes back to her therapist which concluded that she remembers everything about the shooting.

With the season’s progression, the duo, along with Ryan and Esposito, head out to solve some really mysterious cases including the investigation of the murder of an ex-con by some dressed up vigilante that Castle terms as a “superhero”. And there is the murder mystery with a pool of blood but no body, the victim later being identified as Lester Hamilton who was working on an “Ambrosia Project”, that aimed at stopping the human body from ageing. Alexis appears demoralised and sad as she did not get through, where Castle accepts that he has over-protected his daughter to the level that she cannot handle rejection. He then explains that he kept his first rejection letter framed because that acted as his biggest motivation.

The team faces further tension when they try to solve the murder mystery of student “Jane Herzfeld” and find out that the bullet matches the gun that was previously owned by Ryan but was stolen by the killer 3XK (Jerry Tyson). This makes Castle realize that he does not fully know the liabilities of being a cop and that all he’s done is play a cop rather than actually being one. Sparks of jealousy fly off when Castle flirts and shows apparent signs of being smitten by the sexy Serena Kaye who acts as an insurance investigator for a museum robbery case handed over to the team. A disturbed Kate goes to her therapist where she remains baffled by his question “What are you really scared of? That he won’t wait for you? Or that he will?”

It is apparent from episode 9 “Kill Shot” that Kate still suffers a great deal of trauma from her shooting incident as they try to avoid using the word “nipper” around her during the murder investigations of kindergarten teacher Sarah Vasquez and Henry Watt, an attorney. When Kate loses her focus on scene and lashes out at Castle, he knows that something major is bothering her. She puts off her therapists advice of stepping back from such cases because she might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Through this, Esposito consoles her saying that she should embrace whatever happened and use it as her strength, rather than her weakness. She straightens up after this pep talk and appreciates Castle for giving her the space she direly needed. She is also seen trying to move on from the rage of her mother’s murder when she talk to her therapist about being better than the murderer.

Lighter scenes follow with a particular case where Kate and Castle are found handcuffed together in bed. Not for what we would like to assume but after a drug inducement, with their personal items missing by a gang who indulge in human trafficking. With a lot of unusual tension building up between Castle and Kate, Lanie tells Kate that it is very obvious that she is crazy about her partner and that she should just go ahead and say it to him. Meanwhile, Kate is joined by another partner, Brett Tucker, who by his charming ways tries to appease Kate and even asks her out for a drink. New twists towards the end point that Kate’s mother’s case might be reopened and Castle is afraid for her security because the mystery man who has contacted Castle more than once throughout the season, warned him to make sure she keeps her distance, failing which, her life would be in grave danger. But she being she, she goes into further investigation.

With more unfolding of secrets and unanticipated twists in the storyline, emotions also take a haywire turn. Alexis’s valedictorian speech night ends with Kate unexpectedly ending up at Castle’s door and confessing her true feelings about him. She says that though she almost died, it was Castle who was always in her mind. The season ends with a drenched Kate knocking on Castle’s door, finally facing her biggest moment of truth which leads to a brief scene of show of passion, thus ending the entire season with what the viewers had been waiting for a long time.
