Glee is one of the most in-demand and eminent American musical comedy-drama TV series that was broadcasted on Fox channel in U.S. Glee was created by Ian Brennan, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The three also wrote the story for the first two seasons while Murphy and Falchuk were the directors of the show. The pilot episode of the show was premiered on May 19, 2009 while Season 1 started on September 9, 2009 and ran till June 8, 2010. The following seasons was aired from September to May while the final season aired from January to March 2015.

It highlighted the story of the Glee Club members of the fictional William McKinley High School as they joined the choir competition circuit during which, every member face difficulties in their personal and social life, while learning how to make their team more efficient. The original members include Will Schuester (played by Matthew Morrison), a Spanish teacher and the director of the team, Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch), a coach of cheerleading, Emma Pillsbury (played by Jayma Mays), the Guidance Counselor and Terri (played by Jessalyn Gilsig), the wife of Will. Other members include Dianna Agron, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer, Mark Salling, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith. Later on, additional cast were added to the team.

Glee was filmed at the fictitious William McKinley High School located in Lima, Ohio. The songs that were covered in the show were released in iTunes Store on its broadcast week, while the Glee albums were released through Columbia Records. The music became successful commercially and gained a total of 30 million digital sales and 11million album sales around the world in 2011. The merchandise of the series includes an iPad app, karaoke games, DVD and also Blu-Ray releases. The team also made live concert tours during its first and second seasons and a concert film that was based on their 2011 tour.

The show also received several nominations at the Emmy Awards, Golden Globe and Satellite Awards including 57 more awards. They also received the Best Television Series for Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globe Award, Emmy Awards and more. Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch also received the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress Awards at the Golden Globes, while Gwyneth Paltrow received the Outstanding Guest Actress Award in a Comedy Series at the Emmy Awards.

After the sudden death of Cory Monteith in 2013, Murphy announced that the sixth and final season will be aired in 2015.
