Though it seems to be the story of Ishwar Chand Vidhyasagar from the title, the story is about Kinkar, who shares his birthday with him. Kinkar joins as a volunteer in the Forest Department of Sunderbans in Kumirkhali, the land of widows, after failing to stand on his father’s expectations. But he realizes soon that the job is more challenging that what he had anticipated. The land was facing a crisis and Kalyani was increasing the problems.

Kinkar takes the burden on this shoulder to fight against all the odds. The best thing about the series is that despite being a social drama, it has enough potential to hold the audience's attention until the very end. The storyline is simple, but the acting is commendable and the music, location and dances blend with the narrative.
