Roommate is a televised short movie by Sony Aath. It is a Bengali-language film that showcases a grave concern - ragging and its effects. The story starts with two college girls trying to hide the body of Shalini, an acquaintance of theirs, inside an abandoned factory. The police investigate the reason for Shalini’s disappearance, but no leads have left the case unsolved. Pabitra, a physics honours first-year student, is on his way to college in the next scene. The college roomed him with Ayan and Joy, two third-year seniors. When Pabitra enters their room, he sees the dark apparition of a girl with long hair. Ayan and Joy return a while later to inform Pabitra about their ragging session. At night, they torture the poor innocent boy, but their plans are foiled at each step. As the days go by, the atrocities continue, and the ghost of Shalini helped Pabitra. She protects him and when the ragging surpasses all limits, Shalini takes over Pabitra’s body to exact revenge on his seniors. She kills Ayan and Joy.
