The story revolves around Ranu. Ranu is a young and beautiful girl. She is not much educated, but she is street-smart. Her parents are domestic workers. They work as domestic help for an influential family in their town. The Mitras are a wealthy family. They are arrogant and believe they are a tyranny. They look at every poor person with disgust. They do consider the poorer people as equals. Ranu despises them. She believes that poverty is the main evil. Ranu wants to be rich anyhow, richer than the Mitras. She desperately looks for ways to become rich quickly. At her heart, Ranu is a good person. She wants to be rich to have a better life for her parents. She is saddened to see their plight working under the Mitras. She wants to build a school for the poor kids in her town where they can study for free.

She believes everyone should be entitled to education as it is the only way to uproot poverty. She does not want any other kid to suffer like her parents. Miraculously, she wins a lottery of 1o crores. Ranu and her parents are extremely happy as they do not have to work a day in their life. They can live a luxurious life, eat rich food, and wear designer clothes. They were richer than the Mitras now. Life takes a turn when Ranu gets married to Dhrubo, the younger son of the Mitras. She becomes the daughter-in-law of the family whom she has despised since childhood. It has become challenging for her to handle her life now.
