Agnijal is a Bengali serial written by Sahana Dutta and directed by Anupam Hari. Sharbari Ghoshal and Suparna Chowdhury penned the dialogues. Shree Venkatesh Films produced the series. Upaali Chatterjee composed the music. It got aired on Star Jalsha from 21st November 2016 – 23rd July 2017.

The period drama showcases the power thirst, battles, and conspiracies along with the romantic story of Dev Daksha, a Prince and a devadasi, Souraja. Dev Daksha, is the son of the King, Dev Varma and Queen Bedantika, who ruled Sahasra Nagari. The King has three sons and two daughters, and Dev Daksha is the elder one. He fell in love with Souraja and Dhratna, the temple Acharya is against this love. Dev Varma has another wife, Tamakshi. Gangeyo is the son of Dev Varma and Tamakshi. Tamakshi wanted her son to rule the Kingdom after Dev Varma. But, after the King’s death, Dev Daksha becomes the King. Souraja’s mother, Kalabati doesn’t want her daughter to become a devadasi like her and wants her to get married. But the Acharya announced that Souraja would be the next devadasi. To save her from becoming a devadasi, Daksha marries her. What happens next? Will Gangeyo turn the enemy of Daksha? The rest of the story deals with it.
