Parineeta is the daughter of a businessman named BarunDutta. She is rich, blessed and a beautiful human being. Despite her riches, she is simple, unsophisticated, and humble. She is in love with an average middle-class man, Ron. But as every love story has a villain, Parineeta’s father is opposed to their marriage. To gain acceptance in the eyes of BarunDutta, Parineeta’s mother asks Ron to return in a year and as a rich, successful man.

As time goes by, Ron returns a successful man and gets married to Parineeta. However, their married life is not all bliss. They have marital troubles and Parineeta leaves behind her newborn baby and goes away. After eighteen years, when the two lovers are face to face, she tells him she had discovered her reason for existence. Parineeta now runs an ashram, and she has dedicated her life to social service. Even though the plot is stereotypical and predictable, the main protagonist not returning to her family even when they realise their mistake is a satisfying move on the screenwriter’s part. Everyone gets a second chance at life and people should know when to embrace it with open arms.
