Actor RajKumar came to limelight as he resembled South India’s Megastar Chiranjeevi. Raj was introduced by Darshaka Ratna Dasari Narayana Rao. He debuted with the film Amma Rajeenamma. He was born and brought up in Karnataka but he is usually known as Xerox copy of Chiranjeevi. So, he got many a chance in Telugu without a lot of effort. He started his film career in Telugu but concentrated more on Kannada. He settled well in Kannada field. He usually says that Hindi actor Sanjeev Kumar is his inspiration. He adapted many roles of Sanjeev Kumar in his films. When his chances for films are taking a dip ETV artist Suman consulted him and asked him to take part in ETV’s serials. He did a lot of serials in Telugu. He became famous for his serials than his movies. His movies are not quite successful as that of serials. He made serials continuously 12 years without a break in various Telugu channels. He made his comeback with the film Barishter Sankara Narayana. He played a dual role in that movie, one is the title character and the other as nephew to Sankar Narayana. Rama RajKumar, wife of RajKumar produced the movie and famous choreographer Tara directed the film. The film got divided talk in Andhra whereas it became a blockbuster in Kannada.
