Sila Nimida Cinema is a talk show. Aired on Vendhar T.V, it is also available on other platforms such as Disney Hotstar+. The show basically targets the younger section of the society. In this show, young budding directors are invited to the show, a sort of interview setup is organized. They tell us about their experiences and journey, and what they have learned from the television industry. They are an inspiration to the younger lot, giving them the courage and strength to make their dreams come true.
They turn a script into a film; they’re responsible for the quality of the film and its success. In most cases, directors work on their films far longer than any actor, technician, or editor, from the very first day of brainstorming to the final release date; it is no wonder that directing an entire film is physically, mentally, as well as emotionally draining. They work with different actors, makeup artists, cinematographers, various writers, and film, sound, and lighting technicians.
In one of the interviews, a budding director said that aspiring film directors always have to continuous prove themselves by doing film lighting design, directing stage production, or establishing a history of associate and assistant directorships. This ultimate route is the commonest, as professional experience and networking contacts are combined in a briefly intense period of time. There isn’t a specific ladder to climb. Most aspiring directors develop video clips of their own work as a display of their talent when applying for television, industrial, or commercial directing jobs, which both pay well as well as serve as working credentials.
