Kannada Tv Show Thakadimitha

Thakadimitha is a dance program which is aired on ETV Kannada. Like many serials in other languages where celebrities become contestants, and dance to win the competition, this show also follows the same format. This celebrity dance program’s format is owned by BBC. It was launched in 2014, and three seasons of the show have been aired.

Most of them turn out to be TV actors while the rest have made their name in some other field of work. None of them have any previous experience with dancing, and they all have to dance with choreographers to impress the panel of judges.

In the opening episode, the contestants were introduced to the viewers, and they were paired with their respective teachers. To improve the chemistry between the teams a duet theme for the day was introduced in the second episode. The local dance was promoted by using bits of songs from the old classics. There was a comic theme, and the participants had to dress up accordingly and use props which will help them with their song. The stage was decorated in the folk dance theme of the episode.

The costumes were colorful. It was a Valentine week, and a special guest had come to sit with the judges. The couple theme of the day set the romantic mood for the weekend. Two teams who were eliminated before came back into the competition after competing with the other eliminated teams in a round for another shot at the prize. Games were also played where the teams had to dance on a random song for hundred seconds.

Another Version Of This Show

Thaka Dhimi Tha Dancing Star is a dance show which was telecasted on ETV Kannada. It was telecasted on every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm. It was premiered on 11th January’2014 and has completed its final (34th) episode on 4th May’2014. This show is an adaptation of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa of Colors TV. BBC Worldwide Limited owns the format of this show. While Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was produced by BBC Worldwide, Thaka Dhimi Tha was produced by ETV Kannada. The Judges of this show are Yogesh, Rakshita and Guruprasad. This show was hosted by Akul Balaji.

Twelve celebrities paired with twelve professional dancers participated in this show and competed for prize money of Rs.15, 00,000. The twelve celebrities are - Jayalakshmi paired with Danny Jackson, Chandan paired with Meghna Kamath, Saniya Iyer paired with Dhanush, Dodda Ganesh paired with Shruthi, Kumudha paired with Suman Shetty, Rishi Kumara paired with Tanusha, Shamita Malnad paired with Ratheesh, Sihi Kahi Chandru paired with Payal Gupta, Navya paired with Manjunath, Thriller Manju paired with Shilpa, Anupama Bhat paired with Yashwanth and Tsunami Kitty paired with Disha Madan. 6 celebrities out of 12 celebrities were associated with ETV Kannada channel.

Tsunami Kitty is one of the participants and the winner of Indian reality show. The grand finale of this show was held at The Innovative Film City and this episode was telecasted on 4th May’2014. The performances of the finalists were judged in two rounds by an extra guest judge. The pair Tsunami and Disha Madan has won the title of the Dancing Star. All the Thaka Dhimi Tha Dancing Star seasons are immensely popular with the South Indian crowd, but among them season 1 and season 2 are the highest garnered.
