Girija Kalyana is a mythological epic drama based on an ancient time of medieval India. It is host on a massive and a grander scale than any other show shot in Kannada TV Serial history. The story is about a young girl, Girija, who is depicted as a gift from the gods to a childless couple, Rudramma, and Devaiah. Girija, is an ardent devotee of none other than the mighty Lord Shiva. She has only one goal in mind: to destroy the evil king Amaradeva’s kingdom.

Amaradeva is a tyrant and a vile human king who is against Shiva worship in his inglorious kingdom. Despite King Amaradeva being against Shiva worship of any form, his son, Rajavardhana is quite the opposite. He, unlike his tyrant of a father is very much for Shiva worship and he does not quite agree with his father’s views toward Lord Shiva. Being the Prince of the infamous kingdom, prince Rajavardhana is the only one who has the necessary power to defy king Amaradeva.

In her quest to destroy the evil forces of King Amaradeva’s kingdom and king Amaradeva himself, Girija meets Rajavardhana, who not only aids her in her epic quest but also falls for her. Their personal quest of marriage is not only steeped in pure divinity for Lord Shiva but also coupled with their fight against evil to establish peace in the kingdom once and for all. The story line has received a lot of response with the grand scale of shooting receiving the maximum applause.
